FIELDS was commissioned to design various types of furniture and exhibition areas for the Turkish pavillion for Milan EXPO 2015 designed by URAStudio. The main theme of the pavillion was Contain/Maintain/Sustain. The URAStudio design featured giant pots inspired by traditional turkish pottery to house temporary exhibitions. The furniture and exhibition design plays with the idea of the pot, reversing solid and void relationships, combining multiple and partial pots in different ways as well as playing with traditional weaving methods, wicker in particular which is used as a protective layer around vessels.
