Set in a 19th century building in İstanbul, the design language of the jewellery store engages in a dialog with the neoclassical architecture of the building with a contemporary design sensibility. With minimal intervention to the existing space, the relationship to the building is established through furniture. They’re formed using variations of moulding profiles seen in classical architectural ornaments in combination with boolean processes; the resulting geometry is simultaneously strange and familiar. The carved out volumes also resemble various diamond cuts, the furniture pieces become objects on their own as well as serving as display units.
